Gala Event

Bempong Foundation will be hosting a gala evening at the University of Ottawa Tabaret Hall on April 21,  2010. The objective is to raise $20,000 to be used for renovations and upgrading at Ntarama Primary School in Rwanda. The school has 335 students in Grades 1 through 6 and is in a region where poverty is deep and the affects of the 1994 genocide are still present.   

In May 2009, members of Bempong Foundation met with the teachers and students at Ntarama Primary School and delivered $5,000 worth of school supplies (back packs, notebooks, pencil cases, math sets, pens and pencils and dictionnaries). 

Bempong Foundation will continue its support of the school in the April 21 2010 event.   

Contributions to our campaign can be made in four ways:
1.   The donation of big-ticket items or services ($200 or more) for direct live auction;
2.   The donation of smaller items or services ($30-80) for silent auction;
3.   The purchase of a ticket to the gala event ($30);
4.   Direct donation.

Live auction donations include items such as embassy dinners, music lessons, travel vouchers and artwork.Silent auction donations include items such as paintings, clothing, sculptures, household items and gift certificates.  Companies and individuals who donate big-ticket items will be featured on our website and promoted at our event, while those who donate silent auction items will have their name or company displayed at the sales table.
